"A person’s value should not be measured by the pound.”

Reliable information on Eating Disorders and the complexity of causes is not a common topic, nor is it easily accessible. Eating Disorders are not about a diet or vanity and they are not a choice. Becuase the correct facts are not known and not being taught in an impacting and innovative manner, our youth need to educated properly.

The Inner You is a prevention and education program on Eating Disorders. Participants who complete this intensive training will receive certification as a peer trainer in Eating Disorders and will be provided opportunities to conduct workshops in various settings. Participants DO NOT have to be at risk for or have an Eating Disorder. The full program is available for implementation in your school and available in our Forest Hills location twice a year.

The Inner You is a 13 week/session program which provides teens with important information such as types of Eating Disorders, impact of the media, the power of words, stereotypes and respecting their bodies. Our aim is to reduce the risk that teens will make unhealthy choices for themselves based on incorrect or no information at all.

The program is designed for youth to have an opportunity to explore their own self-identity, thoughts, values and feelings among a group of their peers - realizing they are not alone in their ideas and fears.
