Aimed at fostering an intercultural dialogue about peace among all peoples, Queen Rose raises funds to finish her debut album to aid Hal Eisenberg’s youth nonprofit, Windows of Opportunity in New York City.
World Soul producer, singer/songwriter and violinist Queen Rose takes on a new chapter in realizing her BUILDING BRIDGES vision. After releasing her BUILDING BRIDGES music video for Black History Month this year, she is raising funds through a pledgemusic campaign for her upcoming album, which will benefit the “Rock Ur Heart Out” music program for disadvantaged children of the nonprofit Windows of Opportunity in NYC.
After her groundbreaking Building Bridges music video project, undertaken with strategic partner Hal Eisenberg, executive director of Windows of Opportunity, Inc., artist/entrepreneur/philanthropist Queen Rose is taking on the next chapter in manifesting her Building Bridges vision. “I want to foster intercultural communication and peace by helping the media and entertainment industries shift toward messages of empowerment for all people, especially for our young. They’re the next generation of leaders for a planet urgently in need of selfless peacemakers and conciliators,” says Austria-born, New York-based Queen Rose, the video’s creator, producer and director and producer of her upcoming debut solo album, “Purpose of My Life”.
Queen Rose will donate $1 of each sold album to Windows of Opportunity’s Music Leadership program, Rock Ur Heart Out, which is currently building a music studio for at-risk and under-served youth in Queens Village, New York.
“Purpose of my life” is a particularly heartfelt and personal project, says Queen Rose, who received inspiration for it after the untimely deaths in 2011 of her brother-in-law and a close friend, who also co-produced a track on the album. “All songs are personal to me. Yet, they address the hardships and joys that all of us go through in life. I have been working on some of these songs for a few years now, but I didn’t realize until my major losses how important it is not to delay the work of fulfilling your dreams and living out your life’s purpose. I’m trying to encourage others to strive for the same.”
Queen Rose, whose resume includes being featured violinist for Trey Songz’ spotlight on MTV Unplugged, has appeared on Late Night with Conan O’Brien and in the movie “August Rush;” with her own band at The Blue Note, Knitting Factory and other celebrated venues; and on 18 studio album recordings. As a member of the Philharmonic Orchestra of the Americas, Queen Rose has performed with the likes of John Legend, Santana, Gloria Estefan and Patti LaBelle.
Queen Rose’s songs fuse her formidable classical and jazz music backgrounds with America’s sizzling rock, soul, hip hop and R&B sounds. She calls that distinct blend of accessible, catchy and globally appealing hooks World Soul Music.
She also chose the crowd fundraising platform Pledgemusic to raise the missing funds for her upcoming album. “It takes a village to raise a child and a whole community to release an album independently,” she laughs. “I thought I could do this by myself, but after putting all my savings into the project I realized I had to reach out to my communities. It is humbling, but a great way to get people involved. Not only do I offer very valuable things and services, people can pre-order the album, performances, recordings, customized songs, videos and much more, but I also involve my pledgers in my decision processes with my exclusive updates. I ask them for feedback and input. They support empowering live music, disadvantaged children and also have a say in the process. I have some of the best NYC musicians on my records, I can’t wait to share the end product!”
Queen Rose is raising charitable dollars for Windows of Opportunity as she works toward the launch of her own Building Bridges organization. Choosing Windows of Opportunity is the outgrowth of a partnership between Queen Rose and Eisenberg, who met at United Global Shift training, which designs and facilitates programs and workshops for people engaged in initiatives aimed at creating a better, more equitable world.
